Spring Peonie Headdress
I first spied this headdress about two weeks ago at a local thrift shop. At $20 I felt it was a bit of a splurge so I waited until providence stepped in and just by chance $20 landed in my lap.
This store has an entire row of headdresses on display in different styles including a birdcage! I may go back tomorrow on half price day and get a few more.
They are clearly handmade and the construction is quite ingenious complete with comfy foam padding on the inside and a chinstrap to help stabilize the weight. I would love to attempt to make on with some of my vintage millinery supplies.
