Gallery Walk: Hortense & Millicent D’eivil Series @ Home Ec Workshop
Iowa City Gallery Walk
Friday, October 8th, 2010
5:00pm to 8:00pm
Home Ec Workshop is pleased to present a photographic installation portraying the lives of fictitious persons Hortense and Millicent D’eivil. Inspiration for this series includes: “Little Edie” Beale of Grey Gardens, Miss Havisham of Satis House, and tales of Gothic Horror such as “The Yellow Wallpaper”. Miss Hortense & Miss Millicent are modeled by twin, miniature (1.5”) hand-painted bisque figurines found in a box in an antiques store.(Artist: Heather Atkinson)
